08/2010. BURNING MAN SCHEDULE - SLIGHT DELAY IN FILLING WEB ORDERS FROM MONDAY, 30 AUGUST TO SUNDAY, 5 SEPTEMBER
Hello everyone, please note that our peops will be at Burning Man the week of 30 August to 5 September and we will NOT be able to fill orders that are placed during that time witihin the usual 3 business days. Monday 6 September is a US Federal holiday and the post office will be closed.
You can still place an order - we will start filling web orders again on Tuesday, 7 September. Express orders will be prioritized, and orders will be filled in the order that they are received. All orders that are placed before 30 August will be filled on 30 August. Thank you for your understanding!
08/2010. FLOWTOYS AUGUST UPDATE - WEB ORDERS, E-MAILS AND NEWEST FLOWTOYS ARRIVAL!
Sean and Prisna gave birth to a baby girl on 28 July! Kiro von Stade is doing great, though Prisna was pretty badly injured during birth and both of them are out of commission for awhile.
We will be filling web orders as usual, though we will not be doing any wholesale orders, custom orders, drop-ins or dealing with anything out of the scope of web orders. If you have general e-mail queries, Bri will respond to you, but if you have any strange, wholesale, affiliate or custom questions, you'll just have to wait until Prisna can sit up and type. Thank you for your patience!

Please note that we will NOT be filling web orders from Wednesday, 21 July through Tuesday, 3 August. If you need something before mid-August, please place your order before 21 July.
Our peops are going to be at the IJA and Prisna is expecting a baby anyday now and will not be responding to emails from the onset of labor to about 3-4 weeks after that. You can still place web orders during that time, but they might NOT be sent out within the usual 3 business days. Please do not email us about exceptions during this time, as we might not be around to get back to you. 05/03. NEW LIMITED WATERMELON AND FREEDOM FLOWLIGHTS LAUNCH!
They're here - our new limited summer colors! If you liked the original Freedom, you will love the new Freedom with its brighter red LED. These lights make us feel like superheroes with their high contrast colors.
The new Watermelon flowlight is now available and they are soooo pretty! We released the Watermelon flowlight in honor of an awesome force in the flow community - Watermelon Dan aka Burning Dan, who organizes the FlowTemple community in Los Angeles. He's been asking for a watermelon color schemed light for years and this is a recognition of all his efforts to create and sustain a thriving creative flow community and for rocking the pink and green theme :)
04/10. ACTION PANTS ARE BACK IN STOCK!
Action Pants for 2010 are now available! We have "Performers" in Black and a new series of "Stripes". Both have new brass rings for attaching lights, keys and other shtuff. Pants are also available in more sizes - check them out for more details.
04/10. FLOWVISION INSTALLATION AT FIREDRUMS VIII, 6-9 MAY 2010
Visualize Your Flow with Real-time Video Feedback: Long trails, kaleidascope effects and more! We will be setting up a visual/spinning installation at Firedrums this year. We've been working intermittently on a video feedback project with our light toys and have had so much fun with it, we wanted to be able to share it with the larger spinning community and what better venue than Firedrums with its dedicated community of spinner and flow artists! 02/10. NEW LOVE FLOWLIGHT, EARTH & SPIRIT STICKERS, AND CRYSTAL CASE O-RINGS NOW AVAILABLE!
The new Love flowlight is here and it is beautiful with 3 dreamy shades of pink. The Love light is a limited edition flowlight, which means we only make one batch this year and when it runs out, we will not have more in stock. Pics of available flowlight colors.
Now that the updated Earth and Spirit flowlights are available, it's time to print and release the Earth and Spirit elemental sigil stickers! Like all our other beautiful stickers, these are waterproof, scratch-proof and lasts in the sun for years.
Fumbling with getting your flowlight out of a crystal case is a thing of the past with our new Crystal case O-rings! If you order any crystal poi with flowleashes or flowlight handle leashes, they now come with these O-rings. You can also order them separately on the flowlight items page.
01/17/10. NEW BRIGHTER EARTH AND FIRE FLOWLIGHTS NOW AVAILABLE!
The long-awaited new Earth and Fire flowlights are now in stock and ready to ship out! After a long hiatus, Earth is making a comeback and will take its rightful place as an Element in the Flowlight Elements Color series. The new Fire - we are very excited to say - is much brighter than the previous Fire lights. We spent a couple of years looking for bright and affordable red/orange/yellow LEDs and finally found them. They still cost much more than the ole ones, but we think they're worth it and we're not raising the price.
01/10: HAPPY NEW YEAR, NEW WATER FLOWLIGHTS NOW AVAILABLE and A QUICK UPDATE
Wow what a year! We have spent a good part of it developing and dialing in the Flowtoys Modular System and it's almost ready to be released! Sean has also figured out a way to fuse flowlights together in a durable manner to create a bright Flowlight Levitating Wand - great for stage performance even in fairly lit environments. Look out for videos of the System and the new Flowlight Wand in the coming weeks.
After years of looking for a great sea-green LED for the Water flowlight, we are stoked to announce that we have found it! All new Water flowlights now have a beautiful sea-green LED. It's totally dreamy. The original Water flowlights had a stock green that was more traffic light than water, and when we found the aqua that is in the Water II lights, we had intended to replace all Water lights with Water II, but the aqua LED was too blue and so we kept looking. We are almost out of Water II lights and will be discontinuing it now that we have found an awesome sea-green LED for the Water light. The current Elemental series comprises Air, Water, Earth (coming soon!), Fire and Spirit. Occasionally we will release special limited colors like Luck, Love, Freedom and others. When these run out, they are out, but there will always be new beautiful colors on the horizon.

11/09: FLOWTOYS FACEBOOK FANPAGE AND YOUTUBE CHANNEL ARE HAPPENIN'!
We just created the Flowtoys Facebook fanpage and are starting to upload new videos to our Youtube channel. As some of you know, we've had our heads in the prototyping lab for years and have been keeping a pretty low profile. We often have announcements to make and this website has been our primary means of updating people with product news and such.
The Facebook fanpage will now provide an easy way for y'all to keep posted on new products, events and special offers and share your own flowtoys experiences. We've had a Youtube channel for awhile, but only had operating instructions posted (yawn ...). We are beginning to upload product demos and will soon be putting up inspirational vids. Join us in the world wide web - you're already here :)
11/09: WATER, FIRE, LUCK AND NEW SPIRIT FLOWLIGHTS NOW AVAILABLE!
Our new shipment of lights has arrived! We now have water, luck, fire and a brand new spirit flowlight -- it's so bright and beautiful! Pictures and videos are forthcoming and will hopefully be online in a few days. We will be testing all the lights this weekend, but you can place your order now and we will fill them on Monday in the order they are received. Woot!
10/09: OCTOBER FLOWLIGHT UPDATE! We are making more improvements to the flowlights! The most recent shipment did not meet our high standards and we found some of the shells were breaking more easily than we would like - if you bought water, fire or luck lights since late August 2009 and experienced breakage, please contact us and we will replace them for free.
A note from our Chief Toymaker, Sean:
We have done some extensive impact testing and found that the new batch of flowlights, which includes water, fire and luck, crack and split slightly easier than our previous batches. They were still quite hard to break and took many direct hits in spirals, atomics and butterflies before they cracked in our testing. When testing one of the new lights with one of the older ones, the new lights broke first, but the old ones also cracked and broke before the new ones were completely broken.
Injection-molding polycarbonate is a tricky process. Factors like room-temperature and humidity can effect the strength. We are always pushing our factory to do their very best, but it is still slightly different with every batch. I am sure that after our feedback on this batch, the next one will be stronger.
I want your flowtoys to be able to keep up with you. Making them as strong as possible while keeping them affordable has always been our top priority, but there is only so much impact that even the best electronics can handle. If your style of spinning involves a lot of collisions, I recommend you get one of the older models, like water2, or air, or use clear tape to hold yours together until we get our new batch in mid-November.

04/09: FLOWLIGHT COLORS UPDATE: Many of you have asked about our range of flowlight colors wanting to find out which ones are available, if any have been discontinued and when the out of stock colors will be released again. So here's the lowdown!
As of April 2009, we have the following in stock: air, water II, love and fire. We will be offering water 1, earth, spirit and other new colors when we receive our next shipment of flowlights (please do not ask us what these are, otherwise we'll be answering e-mails instead of making new toys!).
Many moons ago we had to commit to manufacturing a very large quantity of flowlights. We had to predict which colors would be most popular and decide how many of which colors we wanted for the first batch of lights. As many of you know, we are now sold out of half our colors. We have ordered all the components and are in the process of manufacturing the next shipment of flowlights - the earliest we expect to have these available is July/August 2009.
The currently available colors are by no means the least popular. We ordered 2-3 times more air and water II compared to most of the other colors as these are the brightest colors and because they are some of our favorite elements. Thank you so much for all your support through this first generation of flowlights. We look forward to being able to offer you more colors and better functionality in the summer!
08/08: OGGZ DURABILITY HAS DECREASED!: We recently received a number of reports of oggpoi breaking and after some testing have determined that the oggz are now less durable than before. The internal plastic AND the circuit board are weaker and more likely to crack in "oggz" produced after Spring 2008.
"Oggz" are NOT designed or manufactured by flowtoys. They are produced by a company we have no connection with, for the purpose of mood-lighting and though they were never intended for spinning, they make excellent poi, and we convert them for this purpose.
We will continue to sell oggpoi because they are still some of the best weighted and best looking poi heads available, however we must recommend that you avoid hitting them together in high-impact moves like butterflies or against each other or any hard surfaces, like the ground or your head ;)
WARRANTY POLICY
We want you to be able to enjoy your oggpoi without worry and our guarantee and replacement policy still applies, but we will have to be strict about what is considered damaged vs. defective:
--- Defective products have no significant scuffmarks of signs of impact and will be replaced for free.
--- Damaged products have clear signs of damage, and will be replaced for 50% of the price of the product, or $7.50 for oggpoi units, plus shipping.
In both cases, the product must be returned to us, and we are not responsible for the cost of the shipping to us.
Thank you for your understanding. We are committed to providing the best equipment possible and are developing our own poi to replace the oggpoi. They will be WAY better in many ways :) You can look forward to enjoying the next generation of illuminated poi in 2009.

07/08: CRYSTAL POI NOW AVAILABLE!: We designed these soft covers for glowstickers, "stringers" and spinners who enjoy fast and light-weight poi. They provide padding for body wraps and protect the flowlights from hard impacts, while diffusing the light and making it appear brighter. Facets in the crystal line up with the button to enable you to feel it in the dark. Plus you can activate and change the modes of your flowlights without having to take them out of the crystals. You can order crystal poi or get the crystal cases alone if you already have flowlights.

06/17/08: NEW FLOWLEASH SYSTEM STANDARD ON ALL POI: We are upgrading all our poi leashes to a new "flowleash" that we have recently developed (some of you might already have gotten this system). The flowleash is a leash and built-in handle system that allows users to adjust and find the perfect leash length, while keeping the leash streamlined and free of obstructions along the entire length of the leash - great for wraps, hyperloops and other moves that find themselves catching or tangling amidst hardware and knots. Flowtoys founders Sean and Prisna will be in Singapore for a few days in March and we'd love to share with you our latest product line and our passion for movement!
We will have our full line of illuminated performance props including the flow-wand, flowstaff, 4 styles of poi, nunchaku and rope-dart, as well as samples of our new soon-to-be-released Flowtoys Modular System of custom engineered caps and connectors and the all-new "colecord" designated by Playpoi as the best poi cord on earth. We'll also be projecting a selection of recently produced instructional DVDs from some of the most innovative artists in our field.
Come see the action, BE the action, find your flow, meet and mingle with fellow movers, show off your skills, and learn new ones. We have been performing and building props for over 10 years and will be offering our skills and experience, and welcoming any questions and requests.
02/02/08: FLOWTOYS OUT OF OFFICE, WILL *NOT* BE FILLING ORDERS 16 MAR - 3 APRIL: We will be making our annual trek back to Southeast Asia to visit family. Last day to get your orders in before we leave is Friday, 14 March. All orders received after that will be filled when we return on 3 April.
01/21/08: WATER AND AIR FLOWLIGHTS ARE IN: Our new shipment of water and air flowlights have arrived with several new features.
12/07: WATER FLOWLIGHTS SOLD OUT: We are currently out of water flowlights. We expect them to be available in mid-January 2008 together with the new "air" lights.
11/16/07: BACK IN STOCK: Our tubing has arrived and we'll be filling this week's orders today in hopes of getting them out to the PO tomorrow. Thanks for your patience!
11/9/07: SOLD OUT: Our tubing has been delayed. We expect to be able to ship orders out Monday, 19 November. You can still place an order, but it might not ship out until after the 19th.
10/31/07: Flowlight 1.0: New color, new features, new mode
The first official post-pilot shipment of flowlights came in on Monday, 22 October. We invited some friends over and tested all 3500 of them! Great way to spend a Monday night. They’re working great and the NEW
“EARTH” color is beautiful.
There have been some major improvements since our pilot run. To put it simply: the flowlights are now more durable, slightly brighter, have more efficient electronics, have exposed traces for easier hard-wiring and a NEW MODE: “Bounty” - the 11th mode, which is basically a “demo” mode. More.
10/22/07: New flowlights have arrived!
They arrived on Monday, 22 Oct. All express orders were shipped that day; all other orders will be shipped Tuesday or Wednesday in the order that they were received. Thank you for your patience!
10/17/07: New flowlights have shipped!
Our newest batch of flowlights are on their way and expected to arrive early next week. Available are water, fire and our new earth elements. Thanks to all of you who gave us feedback on the first run of flowlights - we have made a number of improvements to this coming batch of lights and are eager to test them out when we receive them.
