The isolation baton is highly dextrous and excellently constructed. The rigid carbon fiber, the durable polycarbonate, and the soft silicone ends all create a complete package that will provide you effortless flow!
Advantages:
- Highly durable design
- Superbly balanced
- Rechargeable
- Environmentally friendly
- Performs excellently for isolation, twirling, and juggling
- Elastomer grip is super grippy and easy to clean
Disadvantages:
- Grip becomes slick with sweat
- You can't put them down
These are incredible.
I ordered a couple pairs with a custom length much shorter than the standard lengths (20.5") and they've been everything I could have hoped for. Extremely well built with fantastic light modes.
These are very well weighted towards the end, such is what I was looking fur. Additionally, as the iso-baton work I do is focused in the relationship of the ends to reach other, having an led version of this property isn't just fun it's actually made made learning easier as the lights make it easier to focus on the ends.
Having the capsule 2.0 lights is also fantastic for sharing a pile of led props at a festival/party, if you sync them all there's no need to stress about keeping track of them as your props are easy to spot.
I first purchased double staffs from Flowtoys in 2009, and despite a few modifications, I didn't like them as much as I was hoping. I sold them a year later.
Now, in 2018, I purchased a set of composite staffs with the modular components (including capsule lights) and I am absolutely thrilled. These staffs feel great and flow so well. They are well balanced, have flow well. I opted to add a little flowmass which improved the momentum even more (which was good to begin with) . I was nervous about the shaft being to thin as I have larger hands, but was pleasantly suprised to find that I actually now prefer the thinner staff size. I'm a huge fan of the modular system and thorougly impressed by the creativty and foresight put into the product design. Every compoment has been thought through to work well with other components. It is really an impressive product suite that was clearly built from the perspective of a prop artist. If you're in market for lighted props, I highly recommend these. Well done, Flowtoys!
Advantages: The capsule lights are so easy to charge and hold their charge for a long time. I spin about 1 hour a night, and charge about 1 a week. Having different colored lights on each staff end that are clearly easy to distinguish greatly speeds up learning of difficult tricks and working through complicated tech moves. This has been a huge benefit to my learning and improvement of the craft; one that I had not anticipated.
Disadvantages: Staying up later than bedtime night after night, spinning.
