Flowtoys is hosting a contest to shine a light on community jams and the contest has epic prizes!

This is primarily an Instagram contest, as most of the flow arts community is active on IG. We will be posting examples of what we’re looking for on our IG channel @flowtoys over the next month, so if you’re interested in entering, make sure to follow us. 

the why behind the contest

It is no secret. We love flowjams and want to shine a light on y’alls efforts to bring people together in play, learning and community. 

Jam hosts and organizers do so much behind-the-scenes work - securing venues, taking on insurance (sometimes), scheduling and marketing events, ensuring the comfort and safety of attendees and participants, organizing music and lighting, and cleaning everything up after, only to do it all over again, often without recognition. 

We wish to elevate the efforts of the pillars of community, the humans who do the work to bring people together.

We also hope to help spread the word of your community jam, inspire more people to start jams of their own, and get a better sense of the network of jams out there, as we often get questions from our customers about where they can go to find community and learn more in their towns.  

And last but not least, we are planning to finally launch our sponsorship program, which will focus on sponsoring community building and jams. This contest is a step towards us knowing more about the community jams that are out there.

who can enter • what we're looking for

Anyone who hosts or organizes or participates in a glow-friendly jam in the US can submit an entry.

If your jam is a firejam or a day jam with no LED props, it will probably not be considered. 

We will prioritize people who are in a hosting or organizing position.

If you are a jam fan, but not organizing/ hosting, and want to shine a light on your community jam, you are welcome to enter but we wish to make sure the jam has a clear champion/team who is responsible for maintaining the jam and can take care of LED props.

We are not looking for the flashiest or longest running jam, but rather jams with dedicated people, and community-centered heart and soul.

  • 1st - spread the flowjam :: super kit [$2,770]

    This kit has many of our favorite props: podpoi, coral poi, composite wand, flower stick and double staffs, and our top-of-the-line vision juggling clubs, chucks, rope dart, and contact staff. Plus a bridge, so you can use the flowtoys app to VJ the modes.

contest details :: how to enter

We’re making a guess here that if you’re organizing a jam, you probably are down to do a little more work than just “follow, tag a friend and share” to enter this contest ;) So here’s how to enter:

  1. Fill out this GOOGLE FORM to tell us about your jam.
  2. Post at least 1 reel on Instagram showing us your jam - anything you want to showcase, but in general we want to get a sense of your jam, see the happy faces of people spinning and playing. Follow and tag @flowtoys, and hashtag #spreadtheflowjam2026
  3. Post at least 1 carousel post or reel of you telling us why you organize jams + at least 3 participants sharing what the jams mean to them. This can be in short videos or photos with overlaid text. Follow and tag @flowtoys, and hashtag #spreadtheflowjam2026 and #flowjam
  4. Bonus post: Show us how you get ready for your flowjam. Tag @flowtoys, and hashtag #spreadtheflowjam2026 and #flowjam

Terms & conditions

Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to enter. Employees and resellers of Flowtoys can submit entries, but are not eligible to win prizes.

Rights

By submitting content (videos, photos, mixed media, etc) to this competition, you give Flowtoys the non-exclusive rights to use and/or modify that content for use on its own, or with other media for educational and/or promotional purposes, in perpetuity. Practically speaking, this means we can use it on our website and social media, and you can still use the original yourself, or give it to others to use, or sell or monetize it in any way you like. We'll also love you, credit you and hook you up as best as we can.

Winners

We will notify winners via email and on social media before end of July 2026. Winning entries will also be featured on the flowtoys contest page, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, and our flownews mailing list.

Official Rules & Terms

No purchase necessary to enter or win. The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Contest entries will be accepted between 31 May 2026 and 11.59PM Pacific Time 30 June 2026. Once submitted, entries become the non-exclusive property of Flowtoys, Inc. (“Flowtoys”).  By entering this contest, you agree to all of the terms and conditions relating to this contest and you are responsible for understanding Your Rights.

By entering, you agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Flowtoys, its affiliates, resellers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives, from any and all third party liability for any injuries, loss, claim, demand or damage of any kind arising from, or in connection with the competition (collectively, "Losses"), including without limitation any third party claim for copyright infringement or a violation of an individual’s right to privacy and/or publicity right. 

Each entrant in the Contest ("Entrant") is responsible for ensuring that he or she has the right to submit the photo(s), image(s), music or video that he or she submits to the Contest. Entrants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the Start Time of the contest.

You agree that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved with Flowtoys, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, before a court of competent jurisdiction without regard for rules of conflicts of law. In any such dispute, participant shall not be entitled to any punitive, special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including without limitation attorney's fees, or any damages, and waive any rights to have damages multiplied or increased. The Contest and Flowtoys’ website are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied.

Flowtoys is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of submissions to the contest, including but not limited to any misprints or typographical errors. Flowtoys is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telecommunications network or lines, computer equipment, servers, providers, software, or failure of email on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, including injury or damage to participant's or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or uploading images or information in the photo contest.

If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of completion as planned, Flowtoys reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest.
