My dart leash is chafing my finger - help!
The rope dart leash can chafe your finger if you're performing a lot of repetitive motions or drilling specific moves repeatedly. In a majority of cases, it's the pointer finger on your lead hand that ends up getting chafed the most.
> Click here for tips to prevent chafing.
LED chucks
Quickstart :: assembly & sizing
Vision chucks, flowlight or capsule chucks? The hardware for all flowtoys LED chucks is similar - you can easily assemble & disassemble your chucks for safe transport.
> Click here for instructions on assembly and sizing your chucks.
Can I use different cord on my chucks?
You can use just about any cord that suits your preference on your chucks, though take not that the cord connectors are designed to fit 6mm diameter cord.
We recommend using the same inter-linked loops design we use so that you can break down your chucks for travel.
- Disassembled in your bag, your chucks are just some pretty lights
- Chucks are considered weapons and there are a lot of restrictions around carrying/shipping them. If fully assembled, they can be an expensive package to mail home from the airport, a lot of explaining to do, and possibly a missed flight. Worst of all no glow toys to play with at your destination!
oxbows aka puppyhammer
How to size an oxbow meteor / puppyhammer
Fit and sizing are everything with an oxbow meteor.
- If it's too long, the head hits the ground.
- If it's too short, the poi are virtually unusable.
Check out this resource for how to properly size your oxbow.

How do I turn my capsule or vision lights on/off?
All flowtoys props with capsule or vision lights have a one-button interface - when you first get your light, simple press the button to turn on. To turn off, you can hold the button down until the light fades off and let go.
> Access more info on How to turn your lights on & off, as a solo light, or as a group
How do I charge my capsule or vision lights?
All flowtoys tubing-based props like batons, staffs, chucks, darts, flower sticks and tubing-based poi have a "flowcap" securing your lights inside the protective tubes.
> Click here for instructions on charging.
How do I group my capsule or vision lights?
Most flowtoys LED props come with "capsule 2" or vision core lights. These light engines have tech that allows you to wireless connect to each other and other "flowtoys connect" lights!
Make sure your firmware is up to date! All your vision and capsule 2.0 props need to have the same firmware version to connect to each other, have the same modes, brightness and run-time, so make sure to update the firmware on all your props!
Quick-group instructions:
- from off: Hold for ~10 sec. until lights flash white and/or turn solid white. Let go. THAT’S IT!
- this creates a unique group with any other flowtoys connect light in quick-group mode.
- there is no limit to how many can join the group :)
- this is what you should see:
- if you want to add more lights to the group later, you can create a new quick-group with all the lights, or see “advanced grouping” to broadcast the group ID and connect more lights.
Quick-group indicators:
- fast flashing white = connecting, trying to connect to existing group.
- solid or slow flashing white = grouped, inviting others to connect.
> Click here for video instructions on quick grouping.
How do I change modes, and navigate my lights?
If your prop has capsule or vision lights, both come with flowOS “Pages interface”, enabling you to navigate through many modes and settings with just 1 button using a few types of button presses. This interface is consistent through all new flowtoys props in the foreseeable future - learn one, learn them all :)

Is there an app?

Here are some things you can do with it:
- access all pages and modes, customize by adjusting parameters, save modes to favorites
- adjust settings, e.g. brightness level, auto sleep/wake
- create playlists - the app comes with default playlists, create your own and share
- adjust autoplay intervals to have modes in a playlist change at different intervals

How do I charge the battery?
The flowlight runs on 1 AAA battery and has a nifty battery door that secures it.
We designed the battery door so that you wouldn’t need a screwdriver to open it. The battery door fits within the flowlight’s compact form and is designed to be secure, quick to open and help spread light around the battery without compromising the strength of the shell anymore than necessary. Sometimes opening the door can be challenging like a puzzle box, but there are several tricks to make it easy for everyone.

My light is not holding a charge, the battery drains quickly.
If your lights don’t run as long as expected, or appear to have very different runtimes, there are a few different possible causes:
- They are getting old - you can email us for upgrade/replacement instructions.
- They are not all getting charged fully.
- Your lights have different firmware or brightness settings.
- Your lights are in different modes (some modes use more power than others).
- The battery capacity is reduced.
- The battery is draining when not in use.
The best way to save power is to choose a lower brightness level, it can more than double your runtime. Setting the "auto sleep" function can also save a lot of battery life by dimming or turning off your light when it's not in motion. Brighter modes will drain your battery more quickly.
