How do I turn my vision lights on/off?

How do I group my clubs for wireless control?

Your vision clubs have tech that allows you to wireless connect to other "flowtoys connect" lights, including all other vision props and capsule 2 lights!

Make sure your firmware is up to date! All your vision and capsule 2.0 props need to have the same firmware version to connect to each other, have the same modes, brightness and run-time, so make sure to update the firmware on all your props!

Quick-group instructions

  • from off: Hold for ~10 sec. until lights flash white and/or turn solid white. Let go. THAT’S IT!
  • this creates a unique group with any other flowtoys connect light in quick-group mode.
  • there is no limit to how many can join the group :)
  • this is what you should see:
  • if you want to add more lights to the group later, you can create a new quick-group with all the lights, or see “advanced grouping” to broadcast the group ID and connect more lights.

Quick group indicators:

  • fast flashing white = connecting, trying to connect to existing group.
  • solid or slow flashing white = grouped, inviting others to connect.

Is there an app?

Yes! The "flowtoys connect" app is a powerful mobile app that together with a "bridge", enables you to control all your flowtoys connect props, which at the moment includes all capsule 2 lights and vision props.

Here are some things you can do with it:

  • access all pages and modes, customize by adjusting parameters, save modes to favorites
  • adjust settings, e.g. brightness level, auto sleep/wake
  • create playlists - the app comes with default playlists, create your own and share
  • adjust autoplay intervals to have modes in a playlist change at different intervals
  • create shows to music on a timeline

advanced features

What is flowOS?

flowOS is the operating system, featured in flowtoys light engines, including the flowlight-FS, capsule light 2.0, and all vision props.

It is the result of over 10 years of passionate development and refinement, and includes a “pattern engine” that enables complex customizable light patterns with real-time effects and motion response that you can only experience in flowOS. It is what makes flowtoys feel alive, responsive, organic and magical.

flowOS provides a user interface with many levels of control and customization from a single-button, which is an important part of what keeps flowtoys durable, affordable and easy to use.

If you simply want to spin or juggle some beautiful props, just press the button. Your flowtoys will cycle through 10 amazing modes, autoplay, and then turn off. This is all one needs to know to have a great time with their flowtoys.

There is a whole lot more your flowtoys can do if you’d like to learn an advanced button press or two, and this knowledge base aims to provide you with the instructions and tools you need to do all the things

How do I adjust a mode?

  • Every mode has at least 1 parameter that can be adjusted. In most cases, it’s the color hue or saturation. In others, it’s the speed, density, brightness, kinetic response, timing interval or some other aspect of how it looks or behaves.
  • To put a mode into its "adjust" state, do a "long-press" --> hold the button (~0.75 sec), let go when the indicator blinks.
  • The mode will go through its adjust cycle. When you see what you like, press the button to stop the adjust cycle, and to select that adjustment.

How do I adjust brightness levels?

You can adjust the brightness of your lights in Page 5 mode 2. Shine when you need to, chill out when it's appropriate or to save battery life.

Adjusting global brightness is an advanced feature that requires you to understand the basic button presses of flowOS. You will need to know how to:

  • "Page click" to get to the settings page
  • "Press" to navigate and select settings
  • "Long press" to adjust your setting
  • "Hold to save"

If you are not already familiar with these button presses, please refer to this button press guide.

What is auto-sleep / auto-wake?

Auto-sleep and auto-wake are powerful features in flowOS that enable your props to dim or go to sleep when not in use to save battery life, and automagically wake up when you want to play with them.

troubleshooting & faqs

My vision club is not holding a charge, the battery drains quickly.

If your lights don’t run as long as expected, or appear to have very different runtimes, there are a few different possible causes:

  • They are getting old - you can email us for upgrade/replacement instructions.
  • They are not all getting charged fully.
  • Your lights have different firmware or brightness settings.
  • Your lights are in different modes (some modes use more power than others).
  • The battery capacity is reduced.
  • The battery is draining when not in use.

The best way to save power is to choose a lower brightness level, it can more than double your runtime. Setting the "auto sleep" function can also save a lot of battery life by dimming or turning off your light when it's not in motion. Brighter modes will drain your battery more quickly.
