trikon dragon staff: capsules

Your Trikon dragon staff is made to order. Even if you choose Express shipping, your staff may not leave our factory until a week after you place your order. If you are in a rush, please contact us or write your desired receiving date in the Customer Notes during checkout. We'll do our best to make magic happen.

Non-US shipping options

We canot ship dragon staffs using "First Class International" due to shipping restrictions. If you are outside the United States, please do NOT select this option during checkout. We will have to email you to upgrade your shipping.

If you're getting a 22mm 1-piece shaft, we may not be able to ship your staff due to shipping restrictions. If you are outside the US, you might want to order the collapsible fusion shaft or get the Trikon dragon hubs separately, and order a 22mm shaft in your country.

Carbon fiber shaft options

All options are compatible with all our dragon heads, and most day, glow and fire heads from other makers, including Wizard of Flow, Threeworlds, Flowbonacci, Gora and HoP. As long as it fits outside a 22mm shaft or inside the 19mm ID it should fit.

Flowbonacci

The Flowbonacci three-piece carbon fiber collapsible shaft features a simple and reliable metal push-button connector for an instant and totally secure connection, and carbon fiber internal tube that will never bend or warp, hand-tuned for a perfect fit that feels like a solid shaft. The button makes a tiny bump on the side of the shaft, but it can barely be detected during use and is not noticeable. The carbon fiber connector is super strong and lightweight.

Comes with the amazing foamed-silicone nimbus grip which is super comfy and grippy, fire resistant, durable and can be cleaned and sanded to texture, maintaining the grip for many years. It practically never wears out.

Threeworlds Fusion

The Threeworlds Fusion three-piece carbon fiber collapsible shaft is beautifully built, featuring a machined aluminum connector that uses a rubber cam and twisting action to compress rubber rings inside the tube for a solid-feeling connection that is secure and reliable when used correctly. Always check before use that it is twisted tight. If the cam is slipping simply wipe the inside clean with your finger and try again. If it is not tight it could come apart during use, but this will not happen if done right!

22mm 1-piece

Shaft Length - how to choose

The exact length of a dragon staff is not as critical as many other flow props, but in order to do "inside" moves, it should be about the length from the top of your sternum to the floor. This is long enough to do everything else and feels great. It is shorter than what most people are used to, but there is no fire to keep away from ;) If you are unsure, err on the longer side, you can always cut it down later.

Nimbus grip

Dragon staff shafts come standard with nimbus grip from Dark Monk. This silicone foam grip performs similar to the popular Goat Grip, with nice padding and incredible tackiness in wet and dry conditions, but it lasts way longer.

Nimbus grip and fire resistance

Nimbus grip is silicone and very fire resistant, and the Gaffers tape that we use to finish it in-house is fairly fire resistant, but there may be situations where the flame from your wicks is moving onto the tape for long enough to damage it. To handle extended contact with flame, you may want to finish the end with self-fusing silicone tape, which is included with each roll of Nimbus grip and is available on flowtoys.com.

The down-sides to the silicone tape is that it can more easily tear, and it does not have adhesive and can roll up the shaft if rubbed against staves or other objects, like when pulling out of a bag. This is why we do not recommend it unless it is needed.

To apply:

• Using clean fingers: wrap a small section of the end of your grip, overlapping onto the shaft.
• Cut and push onto itself to fuse.
• Stretch it slightly when doing this, but not too tight or it will tear more easily. do at least 3 layers to make it durable, and less likely to roll up.

Collapsible shaft warranty

Collapsible shafts are not made by us and come with a 60-day manufacturers' warranty on defects. As long as they're not physically damaged (e.g. water damaged), it will be a free replacement for the parts that are not working. These items do not qualify for upgrade credit.
